a search led me to an essay I want to provide a link to:
"Performatism, or the End of Postmodernism"                                
by Raoul Eshelman.  In order to make it easier for 
you to understand Eshelman's positions, I suggest 
scrolling down to "I can make out five basic features
of performatism" and reading from there to the end
